KINKE KOOI (Leeuwarden 1961)

Kinke Kooi studeerde aan de Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Arnhem, waar ze nog altijd woont en werkt. In haar tekeningen vergroot ze kleine subtiliteiten tot op het niveau waarop kijken een haptische ervaring wordt. Ze emancipeert in haar werk onderwerpen zoals plooibaarheid, burgerlijkheid, het steun verlenende van vastzitten en gastvrijheid. Haar werk is opgenomen in museale collecties in Nederland (o.a. Museum Arnhem en Museum Boijmans van Beuningen, Rotterdam) en diverse prive collecties in de Verenigde Staten, waar zij sinds 1995 regelmatig exposeert.
